Santa’s Famous “Kissing Ball”

Directions

 START with a 17 gauge wire, 5 feet long.  Poke it through the center of the 6 inch Styrofoam ball.  Tie 1/4” wood dowel on one end and snug it up to the bottom of the ball. 

PREPARE YOUR BRANCHES:  Cut your strips 5 to 6 inches.  Cut off debris approximately 1 1/2” from the bottom so that it can be inserted without interference.

INSERT the branches, starting at the middle of the ball (or equator).  Push until some needles go into the ball.  This will act like a fish-hook barb and keep the branch from falling out.  Continue all of the way around the ball, then move up the ball about half an inch higher for each new layer.  Do the same for the bottom half.

DECORATE  with berries, birds, picks, and ribbon!
